The Thai puppet theater is a traditional art that has been left to us as a handcrafted heritage, as it is beautiful and valuable. Received and passed on by the puppet show of Joe Louis (Hun Lakhon Lek Joe Louis).
The Joe Louis Puppet Theater is the only group that preserves and shares this tradition. Master Krae Saptuanit invented this art in 1901.
Her Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana, Princess of Narathiwat, has given the puppet theater the title of “Nataya Sala Hun Lakhon Lek (Joe Louis)” in appreciation of the continuously conservation of Thai tradition and craftsmanship as well as the transfer of art to his descendants.
